A triptych made up of dramatic nonsenses with illustrative titles: Evening of the Artists, The Greatest Poet Accepts an Award for his Lifelong Contribution to Art and Funeral of the Greatest Poet is targeted at the rigid formalities which are an inseparable part of the institution called “official art”. The passionately topical little dramas (written in 2004) are based on various linguistic deformations, expressive points and sharp thematic cuts which inseparably make up a recipe for a true superficial mess. Last but not least, it can be understand as a cheerful commentary of the author’s own experience, when the Czech theatre only became aware of him by a roundabout way after “success” abroad.
