A sin is a sin even if our conscience is trying to fool us into believing the opposite.

This authorial text combines excerpts of William Shakespeare’s plays with the topic of the threat by Vladimir Putin and his regime. The documentary drama is based on legal records and testimonies and deals with a horrifying but real story of the murder of Alexander Litvinenko, a former KGB and FSB agent and a resolute fighter against organized crime. A severe critic of the contemporary Russian president had to search for a political asylum in the Great Britain in 2001 but he did not manage to escape Putin’s power. He was insidiously murdered using radioactive polonium in 2006.

The play (written for the Dejvické Theatre) was shortlisted for The best first staged Czech play of 2017 in the Theatre Critics’ Awards.

The play is available in the Czech original.
