Docufiction about an untimely deceased popular Czech singer.
Věra has not been admitted to conservatory because she is too tiny. She does not fit into a choir either because her voice is too distinct. Věra lives in bad times. It is not important how well you sing. The only thing that matters is how politically-conscious you are. Fortunately, talent will always break through. Follow the career of one of the most distinctive Czech artists. This docufiction drama celebrates cheeky big beat, and especially Věra who resisted with her work all conceivable stereotypes. It is both an intimate portrait and epic story about independence, intrigues, courage and unforgettable presence of real love.
The play was written for the Petr Bezruč Theatre in Ostrava where it opened in September 2021.
