ERADICATE
Tomáš Ráliš
Cast: 2 men, 2 women (variable)
I need a day that would have forty-eight hours.
I need a day when the sun is withdrawn twice and the moon is deposited twice into our account.
I need time that is valid, overtime that will pay for the spent time.
I need a day when we will pay off everything that we owe each other.
If you just believed that I am your best creditor and you are mine.
I need you, I need us living together, not next to each other.
I want to reproduce myself and believe in interest yield.
Make love with payment verification and valid expiration.
“You will get a basement at most.”
Radicalized conversational comedy full of bosses, homes wheeler-dealers, nursing bottles, botox and selfishness. As black as a mould on the bathtub caulking. Socio-economic tinnitus that keeps you awake, keeps you from hearing yourself or other people and that leaves its mark on your relationships. Housing crisis as a territorial battle for a living space.
They are looking for a flat, some space just for the two of them, a little planet that would be just theirs and where they could cultivate their love. And they succeed. But what if there were more of them? It is soon coming to the world, to this piece of a disgusting poor planet. It would be wrong to say that it is a problem, a mistake. But they need to get more money fast. They need a bigger flat. They need to make greater sacrifices and take more humiliation. They need to ask for help. And on top of that they have no idea how skilful they both are at reproduction. What will happen with them? With the cost of everything: the cost of living, the cost of food, the cost of power supply, the cost of their work or their ability to appraise themselves, the cost of petrol, cars and dogs.
They have no idea yet how far they are able to take it.
The play is available in the Czech original.
