This year’s finalists are:

- Adolf Adam (FF UK) for a play Terminal Station, All Aboard!
- Helena Rychlík (JAMU) for a play KOS
- Helena Rychlík (JAMU) for a musical libretto The World Has Gone Mad
- Maxim Bitto, Kristýna Nebeská (FFUK, FAMU) for a play The Curse of the Mann House
The official announcement of the winner and the presentation of the Evald Schorm Award will take place as part of the Brunch with a New Play, afternoon of theatrical sketches, on May 30, 2026 at 14:00 in front of the VILA Štvanice Theatre. The audience can look forward to previews of contemporary drama, including an excerpt from the winning play. Tickets for the event are available online at GoOut.
The award helps young, talented playwrights and translators bring their works from the academic sphere into a broader theatrical context. To date, the award-winning texts have been adapted into more than 60 theatre productions and dozens of radio plays. They have been staged by, for example, the National Theatre in Prague, the Moravian-Silesian National Theatre in Ostrava, the Klicpera Theatre in Hradec Králové, the Švanda Theatre in Prague, Studio Ypsilon in Prague and the Municipal Theatre in Zlín.
