Jandáčková, Kasha (Czech republic)
Kasha Jandáčková graduated from the Prague Conservatory where she studied acting and then went on to study theatre directing at the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She has realized several performances already during her studies and graduated with her play Dead Happy (K smrti šťastní) at the Theatre Disk (later staged at the Theatre NoD). She repeatedly cooperated with the director Petra Tejnorová and her company Sgt Tejnorová & The Commando as a dramaturge and assistant director. She also cooperated with the Theatre Letí as a director, with Prague Pride festival, the Theatre Komedie or with the director Martin Kukučka (SKUTR). Her play called Day and Night (Ve dne v noci), where she is both the scriptwriter and the director, was successfully staged at the NoD Theatre. She focuses on current personal and socio-political topics and she is looking for new forms through subject, motion, and new media. Her play Day and Night won the Evald Schorm Award in 2016. Her play The Suicide Forest was shortlisted for the best first staged Czech play of 2021.
